The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has eliminated the requirement for mandatory physical inspections for the regularisation of residential buildings measuring up to 105 square metres, as announced by officials on Wednesday.
As per an official statement, the civic authority indicated that this initiative is intended to streamline the building regularisation process and minimize delays in addressing outstanding cases. With the updated system, property owners who qualify will no longer be required to undergo a physical inspection by an engineer for regularisation approval.
Instead, applicants may submit a certified undertaking from an authorised architect, along with an online fee payment. “The decision was made to lessen procedural obstacles and enhance the accessibility of civic services for citizens,” stated Mayor Pravesh Wahi. Furthermore, the civic authority noted that this modification is anticipated to bolster municipal revenue collection.
