The Central Government has approved financial assistance of ₹2,403 crore for 28 infrastructure projects in Delhi under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. The announcement was made by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who said the funding will support major transport and urban infrastructure initiatives across the national capital.
Of the total amount, ₹1,647 crore has been sanctioned for the implementation of 28 capital projects approved on 9 July 2026. The projects include Delhi Metro expansion works, the Barapulla Elevated Corridor, the Karawal Nagar Flyover, and the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) depots.
In addition to the project funding, the Centre has approved an incentive grant of ₹756 crore, recognising Delhi’s efforts to increase capital expenditure through its own financial resources. This brings the total financial package under the SASCI scheme to ₹2,403 crore.
The SASCI scheme provides interest-free financial assistance to states and Union Territories for capital infrastructure projects while also encouraging higher investment through performance-based incentives. The initiative is intended to accelerate the development of transport, public utilities, and other essential infrastructure.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the additional incentive and said the funding would help expedite key development works aimed at improving connectivity and urban mobility across Delhi.
To ensure timely execution of the approved projects, the Delhi Finance Department has been assigned the responsibility of coordinating with the concerned departments for implementation and monitoring.
The sanctioned projects are expected to strengthen Delhi’s transport network, improve road connectivity, expand metro infrastructure, and support the city’s transition towards cleaner mobility through additional EV charging infrastructure. Together, these investments are expected to enhance urban infrastructure and improve the efficiency of public transport and civic services in the capital.
