The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a call for bids for the construction of a four-lane highway that will link Badvel to Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, utilizing the build-operate-transfer (Toll) model.
The specified segment commences at Badvel Gopavaram village on NH-67 (Chainage 630.960) and extends to Guruvindapudi village on NH-16 (Chainage 739.094), encompassing a total distance of 108.134 km. The projected cost is Rs 3,352.83 crore, marking it as a major highway infrastructure initiative in the area.
This project is designed to enhance connectivity between the inland and coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh, enabling more efficient movement of freight and passengers while bolstering regional economic development. The contractor chosen will be tasked with the construction, operation, and toll-based maintenance of the highway under the BOT model.
The proposed corridor is anticipated to improve connectivity to essential national highway networks and enhance access to industrial, agricultural, and port-related areas, especially in the vicinity of Nellore. The deadline for bid submissions is 06 July, 2026.
