Larsen & Toubro(L&T) celebrated the final launching of 5593 box segments for 82.15 km Delhi – Meerut RRTS project’s 15.84 km Package 3 Lot-1 in Modinagar.
L&T’s team had launched their very first 10.5m precast segment for this package with 480 spans, connecting Duhai – Modinagar North, in March 2021 between Piers P553 and P554 near Muradnagar.
The final segment was cast last month in Manota village, and this weekend’s major milestone was recorded between piers P-919 and B1 (Modinagar North Station).
National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) had awarded 33 km Package 3’s Lot-1 and Lot-2’s construction contracts to L&T in March 2020 with a 910 day (2.5 year) deadline.
Package 3’s Lot-1 connects Duhai Station (near Eastern Peripheral Expressway) to Modinagar North with 2 elevated stations at Muradnagar and Modinagar South.With this development, segment launching activity has been completed for 3 out of 6 elevated packages.
The other 2 include KEC’s Package 1 and APCO-CRFG JV’s Package 2 – which together form the line’s 17 km Priority Corridor between Sahibabad – Ghaziabad – Guldhar – Duhai where train testing has been underway since December 2022.
