Kmc has announced an 80 percent rebate on penalties for property tax and late fees for water bills. The civic authority has declared an 80% discount on penalties related to property tax and late fees for water bills, provided that defaulters settle their total outstanding amounts, including the current bill, in a single payment.

This rebate scheme is effective from March 26 to 31, and all Citizen Facilitation Centers will be operational even on holidays from March 28 to 31, 2026. The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) indicated that the rebate is applicable to both residential and non-residential properties for payments made between March 26 and 31, 2026, in line with a resolution adopted by the general body, directives from Mayor Rouparani Nikam, and with the endorsement of Municipal Commissioner K Manjulekshmi.

Property owners whose taxes for the current financial year are unpaid and have become overdue within the current fiscal period are also qualified to benefit from the advantages provided by this scheme.

KMC’s public relations officer, Mohan Suryawanshi, stated, “To prevent undesirable outcomes, such as a 2% penalty on outstanding dues, property confiscation, or the imposition of a lien on assets, as outlined in the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, residents are encouraged to settle their tax obligations promptly and take advantage of this concession scheme.

All civic amenities centers will be accessible even on holidays from March 28 to 31. The option to pay online is available on the municipal corporation’s website https://web.kolhapurcorporation.gov.in/ and through the Android mobile application.
