DDA to register buyers for new scheme from Nov 24

DDA officials said on Saturday that the registration for around 28,000 low-income group (LIG) and economic weaker section (EWS) flats to be sold on a first-come- first-serve basis will start on November 24.

Delhi Development Authority(DDA) will begin registering potential buyers for 32,000 newly constructed flats under its Festival Special Housing Scheme, 2023, from next weekend. These flats are located at Dwarka in southwest Delhi, Loknayak Puram in west Delhi and Narela in northwest Delhi.

DDA officials said on Saturday that the registration for around 28,000 low-income group (LIG) and economic weaker section (EWS) flats to be sold on a first-come- first-serve basis will start on November 24. The registration for flats to be sold through e-auction will begin at the end of November with a nominal registration fee. At least 20 days will be given to the registrants to physically visit the flats.

With an e-auction planned for the first time for the flats in the middle-income group, high-income group, super high-income group and penthouses categories, buyers will be able to judge the prices the flats command in different blocks and locations, said the officials.

In total, 1,100 luxury flats, including penthouses, super HIG and HIG flats, at Dwarka 19B overlooking the upcoming golf course of DDA, will go under the hammer. There also are 316 MIG flats in Sector 14, Dwarka, and 647 in Loknayak Puram, all of which will be sold through auction.

Sector 19B in Dwarka also has 728 EWS flats, while Sector 14 has 316 LIG and 1,008 EWS flats. Loknayak Puram has 224 EWS flats. In Narela, on offer are over 28,000 flats in various categories. All these can be bought on a first-come-first-served basis.

“At Narela, we will offer LIG and EWS flats in tranches,” an official clarified. “This is to ensure that there are enough occupants in a block and providing common facilities doesn’t become an issue. Once most flats in a block are sold, the others will then be put up for sale.”

The official said a flat of one’s choice, floor and preferred locality could be reserved by paying the booking amount. In the case of the luxury and MIG flats, a decent, non-refundable amount will be charged as the booking amount. “This is to dissuade people who aren’t sure of buying the flats,” the official said. “The amount paid will be adjusted in the total cost of the flat.”

The EWS flats will cost a minimum of Rs 11.5 lakh, LIG flats Rs 23 lakh, MIG Rs 1 crore, HIG Rs 1.4 crore, super HIG Rs 2.5 crore and a penthouse, Rs 5 crore.
