The AMC has informed the Gujarat high court that it has sealed 314 buildings including 3,689 units in the city because they do not have valid Building Use (BU) permissions.
In an affidavit, the AMC’s town development officer has stated that over the past one year the civic authorities have sealed 277 commercial and 37 residential buildings for want of BU permission.
Meanwhile, upon the state government’s instructions to carry out a sample survey regarding building use permissions, the civic body has directed its seven zones to gather and submit the data.
The government has decided to conduct a survey in various wards in 156 municipalities and eight municipal corporations.
