LuLu Group’s Chairman and Managing Director, MA Yousuff Ali, has declared that the construction of a large shopping mall in Visakhapatnam will commence shortly, creating job opportunities for approximately 5,000 to 8,000 individuals.
During his address at the Investopia-CII meeting held in Vijayawada, the Managing Director stated that the new mall is expected to make a significant contribution to the economic growth of the region, akin to the LuLu Mall in Cochin, which currently provides employment for 8,230 individuals.
In addition to the Visakhapatnam initiative, LuLu Group plans to establish a food processing facility and a hypermarket in Vijayawada. There are also plans to develop similar hypermarkets in various other cities throughout Andhra Pradesh.
These initiatives are anticipated to enhance job creation across multiple sectors. Concerning the proposed food processing unit, the region’s plentiful raw materials will ensure a consistent supply to LuLu’s 38 global food processing facilities.
The Group is already exporting considerable quantities of fruits and vegetables from Andhra Pradesh, thereby strengthening the state’s position in its international supply chain.
