Ambuja Cements, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, is poised to set up a state-of-the-art cement grinding facility within the industrial zone of Adani Gangavaram Port in Visakhapatnam. The plant will cover eight hectares of pre-allocated industrial land, thereby negating the necessity for new land acquisition.
This project is in line with the Adani Groupās commitment to sustainable, port-centric industrial growth that seeks to minimize environmental repercussions. The facility will make use of industrial byproducts such as slag and fly ash sourced from nearby steel and power plants, promoting environmentally friendly operations.
Raw materials including clinker and gypsum will be transported via low-emission rail and maritime routes to lessen the carbon footprint. Designated as a low-impact Orange Category facility, the unit will not engage in fuel combustion or chemical processing. It will also adopt cutting-edge dust management and water conservation strategies, functioning with zero liquid discharge.
This initiative fosters local development, bolsters the logistical capabilities of Gangavaram Port, and aligns with Ambujaās national expansion and net-zero objectives, which have been endorsed by the Science Based Targets initiative.
