The Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation Limited (Tancem) conducted a stockist meet here on Thursday to promote the Valimai brand among dealers in the region.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, Tancem general manager Narmatha Devi said the government was increasing the supply of Valimai cement in the open market, since the price of private cement brands were rising. “Valimai can boost construction activities in the state with its affordable pricing. We are meeting dealers at the grassroots level to market the brand,” she said.
Two varieties of the Valimai brand, priced at 350 and 360 per bag, are available in the market. “The price is nominal compared to private cement brands,” Narmatha added.
More than 100 stockists and dealers from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Nilgiris and Namakkal districts participated in the event.
