Registering Serbian branches for companies from England and Scotland

We offer you the opportunity to open a branch of an English or Scottish company in Serbia. In addition, you can acquire a European bank account, which will allow you to withdraw the funds from the parent company to the Serbian branch without any limitations. The registration procedure is completed fully online.

The advantages of getting a Serbian branch for a UK company

The UK’s business structures, such as limited liability companies and English and Scottish partnerships, face stricter regulations. Public registers of beneficial owners have had a negative impact on non-residents due to money laundering concerns. Opening branches of English or Scottish companies in Serbia is a viable alternative, providing a more conducive business environment.

Expanding reach: Serbian branch registration for English and Scottish companies

Why should business owners from the UK choose Serbia for branch registration? Here are some reasons:

  • Option to register a branch for an offshore company;
  • The Serbian branch can open a local bank account;
  • Quick branch registration (1-2 months max) and bank account setup;
  • Low branch maintenance costs: no annual renewal fee, affordable legal address rent (starting from 100 EUR per month), and accounting costs (starting from 100 EUR per month);
  • There are no residency requirements for branch registration;
  • Opportunity to obtain permanent residence in Serbia by establishing a business;
  • Serbia’s potential EU accession by 2025;
  • Fifty-four double taxation avoidance treaties;
  • Remote branch registration (however, a personal visit is required for opening a bank account);
  • Established banking system and expertise in financial instruments;
  • The branch is registered in the Serbian register and assigned its own TIN but isn’t considered an independent legal entity;
  • Opportunity to transfer funds from the parent company to the Serbian account if the British company’s account is closed).

The corporate tax rate on branch profits is 15%, but it is possible to lower effective rates through strategic coordination with the parent company. Serbia offers preferential programs, such as a 3% income tax rate for IT developers creating intellectual property within the country’s borders. Additionally, there are tax breaks for employees in 2024.
