Pacific Group is set to construct a shopping mall spanning 1.5 million square feet, along with a hotel in Jaipur, in response to the increasing demand for high-end retail spaces, according to a senior company executive. Currently, Pacific Group operates nine shopping malls, totaling over 3 million square feet of retail space, located in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Dehradun.
In a recent interview, Abhishek Bansal, Managing Director of Pacific Group, stated, “We currently have a portfolio of nine shopping malls, and we are now expanding our presence in Jaipur, Rajasthan.” He further mentioned that the company has secured an 11-acre plot in Jaipur for the development of the shopping mall, which will encompass approximately 1.5 million square feet.
Pacific Group is set to construct a hotel featuring 130 rooms, which will be operated by a hospitality chain, as stated by Bansal. He emphasized the significant demand for high-quality shopping malls and hotels in tier-II and III cities.
Bansal mentioned that the mall in Jaipur is projected to commence operations by the end of 2026, while the hotel is anticipated to open in 2027. “We have initiated the process of leasing space to retailers,” Bansal added. Regarding the nine existing retail properties, he noted that these shopping malls are performing well. He highlighted that the food and beverage (F&B) sector has shown remarkable growth in recent years. Pacific Group currently operates four malls in Delhi, along with two in Dehradun, two in Faridabad, and one in Ghaziabad.
Bansal also said that the company is concentrating on completing the Jaipur project. “Once the construction of the Jaipur mall reaches an advanced stage, we will seek land for further business expansion,” he stated. Bansal remains optimistic about the growth potential of organized retail in India, which he believes is continuously evolving. He also expressed confidence that e-commerce will not negatively affect physical retail. A recent report by real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield indicates that 19 Grade A shopping malls, encompassing 12.3 million square feet of retail space, are expected to open in 2025 and 2026 across the top eight cities: Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Ahmedabad.
