CHB to float tender for sector 53 housing scheme

The process will be done through E-Tender and the successful or selected bidder will be given around two year’ time period to construct the flats at around 9 acres of land in the southern part of the city.

The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) is all set to float tender to construct its ambitious housing scheme in Sector 53 by the second week of July.

The process will be done through E-Tender and the successful or selected bidder will be given around two year’ time period to construct the flats at around 9 acres of land in the southern part of the city.

The project will have a dedicated Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to treat sewage generated in the housing complex. Moreover, green belt and the facility of generator backup will also be available at the housing society.

All these things have already been documented during the process of the construction of the housing society, being constructed by the CHB after the gap of after over six years, as the last housing project of the CHB was launched in the year of 2016 in Sector 51.

“The technical sanction of the financial estimates is one of the crucial part of this entire exercise of the project, where the items of the construction and related works are being minutely checked and financial approvals given accordingly. Since the project is crucial for the board, it is being planned under senior officers and if all goes well, hopefully tender process will be started in a couple of weeks,” sources revealed.

A total of 372 flats will be constructed under this scheme, having 192 three BHKs, 100 two BHKs and 80 EWS category flats. Earlier, the EWS flats were 48, which were later increased to 80. Since the financial estimates has also been worked out, the project is expected to cost around Rs 214 crores.

The authority has opted for online application process, which will be kept easy and simple. A helpdesk will be provided at the CHB to assist people in making online application.

The tentative cost will be recovered in five equated installments.
