Share the status of work done in GDA flats in a week

These developers have failed to provide basic facilities even after the compulsory ten-year period. GDA VC Krishna Karunesh has now given them a week’s time to come up with a report detailing the work carried out by them.

Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) vice-chairperson on Monday convened a meeting of seven builders from Crossings Republik, the state’s first township under Integrated Township Scheme that came up in 2007, and asked them to submit a report detailing work done by them within a week.

These developers have failed to provide basic facilities even after the compulsory ten-year period. GDA VC Krishna Karunesh has now given them a week’s time to come up with a report detailing the work carried out by them.

“State’s principal secretary (housing) will take a stock of projects under the integrated township policy and before that we have asked the erring builders to come up with a report within a week. We will recommend action against them based on that,” Karunesh said.

The nature of work entails development of parks, fire stations, hospitals, educational institutions and flats under EWS and LIG. According to an internal report of GDA, only two builders of seven have acquired land for the projects but even they have not been able to complete the work.

At the time of granting license for Integrated Township policy to the Crossings Infrastructure Private Limited (CIPL), a consortium of builders they had to mandatorily complete work related to public conveniences within ten years since 2007.

“They had to complete the work within 10 years but even now the work is still pending,” an official said.

Meanwhile, Sumit Agarwal, president of CIPL, said that efforts are on to meet the target. “We are still awaiting handover of land from farmers and even the administration has not helped us with this. We are trying to resolve the issue and will submit the report to GDA,” he said.
