PM inaugurated two major NH projects worth ₹11,000 crore

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two significant NH projects in Delhi: the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). These projects, namely the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), have been developed as part of the Government’s extensive plan to alleviate congestion in the capital. The aim is to significantly enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and minimize traffic in Delhi and its neighboring regions. These initiatives embody Prime Minister Modi’s vision of establishing world-class infrastructure that improves the quality of life and facilitates seamless mobility.

The Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway spans 10.1 km and has been constructed at an approximate cost of Rs. 5,360 crore. This section will also offer multi-modal connectivity to Yashobhoomi, the DMRC Blue Line and Orange Line, the forthcoming Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka Cluster Bus Depot. This section consists of: Package I: 5.9 km from the Shiv Murti intersection to the Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Dwarka Sector-21. Package II: 4.2 km from Dwarka Sector-21 RUB to the Delhi-Haryana Border, ensuring direct connectivity to Urban Extension Road-II.

The Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, measuring 19 km, was previously inaugurated by the Prime Minister in March 2024. Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated the Alipur to Dichaon Kalan stretch of Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), along with new connections to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, which were constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 5,580 crores. This development will alleviate traffic on Delhi’s Inner and Outer Ring Roads and at busy locations such as Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and NH-09.

The new links will provide direct access to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, enhance industrial connectivity, reduce urban traffic, and expedite the movement of goods in the NCR. In the meantime, hundreds of supporters have gathered to greet PM Modi at the Mundka-Bakkarwala Village Toll Plaza in Delhi. PM Modi also engaged with the construction workers involved in the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II before the inauguration.
