Himadri Speciality Chemical (HSCL), a prominent player in the field of speciality chemicals and advanced carbon materials, has successfully executed its inaugural export of liquid coal tar pitch to the Middle East.
The shipment, consisting of 3,600 tonnes, was dispatched from HSCL’s terminal located at New Mangalore Port, representing a significant achievement in the company’s international operations.
This event also underscores India’s expanding role in the global carbon materials market. The export establishes a second corridor for Himadri, in addition to its existing terminal at Haldia. The company’s operational excellence and robust supply chain were crucial in facilitating this large-scale export.
Liquid coal tar pitch is an essential component in aluminium smelting and the production of graphite electrodes, playing a vital role in high-temperature industrial processes. In response to this milestone, Anurag Choudhary, Chairman & CEO of HSCL, remarked, “This inaugural shipment highlights India’s increasing influence in the global carbon materials landscape, demonstrating our dedication to reliability and excellence.
