Gadkari lays foundation stone for 10 NH projects in UP’s Jaunpur

The construction of two bypasses in Jaunpur and the ring road will be completed, which will provide relief to the city from traffic jams and encourage industrial development.

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday laid foundation stone for 10 national highway projects to be constructed at a cost of ₹10,000 crore in JaunpurUttar Pradesh.Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said the construction of two bypasses in Jaunpur city and the ring road will be completed, which will provide relief to Jaunpur from traffic jams and encourage industrial development.

He said the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made significant progress under the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan aimed at improving multi-modal connectivity and last mile connectivity across the country. One such project is the Prayagraj-Dohrighat Corridor Project, which is in Prayagraj, Jaunpur and Azamgarh districts of Uttar Pradesh. This entire corridor is being constructed with 4-lanes.

This project, being built in four packages, connects Purvanchal Expressway, 11 national highways, two state highways, five railway stations, two airports. The construction of this project road will reduce traffic problems in these five important commercial cities of Phulpur, Mungarabadpur, Machhilishahr, Jaunpur and Azamgarh. This project aims to provide seamless connectivity as well as generate huge economic benefits and increase employment to consumers, farmers, youth and business people, he added.
