Boney Kapoor company won the tender for development of Film City

The Film City is planned to be developed in an area of 1,000 acre of which 220 acre has been identified for commercial use. In the first phase of development, the Film City will spread over 230 acre.

Film director and producer Boney Kapoor, whose company has been awarded the tender for developing the Film City, met chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday and said the world’s best film infrastructure will be built in Jewar, Noida.

Yogi also presented Kapoor the ‘Letter of Award’, which will now allow him to proceed with formalities related to the project. Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP and Bhutani Group had submitted the highest bid for the project and their name was cleared by the state cabinet recently.A senior official said that Kapoor shared with the CM his plans for the Film City. “He told the CM that he would visit film cities across the world and set up the best in Jewar,” the official said.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority had released two tenders for the Film City and was forced to issue a third one when the first two did not elicit any response. The final tender was issued on Sept 30, 2023 and financial bids were opened on Jan 30 in which Kapoor’s company and Bhutani Group won, defeating three other bidders by having promised the highest share of 18% profit to the govt.
