Blue Energy Motors Ltd., a partner in Essar’s green mobility initiative and a leader in clean-energy trucks, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The MoU outlines Blue Energy Motors’ plan to invest in the state and establish a facility for manufacturing 30,000 EV trucks, boosting industrial growth and strengthening the region’s EV truck manufacturing infrastructure.
As part of the agreement, Blue Energy Motors will invest ₹3,500 crore to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant for its electric trucks, which will feature advanced R&D capabilities, a battery-pack production line, a motor manufacturing unit, and charging stations. This investment is expected to create over 4,000 direct jobs, contributing to the state’s green energy goals and economic development. The proposed projects are set to begin in the fiscal year 2025-26.

The new interconnected facility will adopt leading manufacturing practices to produce zero-emission electric trucks. These AI & ML-enabled EV commercial vehicles are designed to redefine heavy-duty trucking by offering superior efficiency and reliability while significantly reducing carbon footprints. This initiative supports Blue Energy Motors’ mission to lead the green trucking industry, collaborating with key stakeholders to address global challenges such as climate change and sustainable development.
