The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has taken action by demolishing sections of 12 buildings that were in violation of building regulations in the Yelahanka zone on Monday. Within the Yelahanka Assembly Constituency, civic officials removed one extra floor from five buildings.
These structures had constructed one floor beyond what was allowed. Among these, two buildings were classified as ‘B’ khata properties. In a similar manner, in the Byatarayanapura Assembly Constituency, civic officials dismantled one additional floor from three buildings and two floors from another building. The owners of two additional buildings have committed to demolishing the extra floors themselves.
Karigowda, the Zonal Commissioner for Yelahanka, stated that a stern warning has been issued to all property owners, emphasizing that they must adhere to the approved building plans. “Any infractions will lead to the demolition of unauthorized structures and the imposition of fines,” he remarked.
