Railways to run seven more pairs of special trains

In a bid to clear the post-Chhath rush of passengers, railways will run seven pairs of special trains from different stations falling under the East Central Railway (ECR).

In a bid to clear the post-Chhath rush of passengers, railways will run seven pairs of special trains from different stations falling under the East Central Railway (ECR). The railways has witnessed an astronomical rise in the number of people reaching north Bihar from other states during Diwali and Chhath this year.

According to the ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar, railways has noticed a huge rush of passengers returning to their respective workplaces outside the state from Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, and Saharsa. “The Muzaffarpur-Lokmanya Tilak Mumbai Superfast Express (05281/05282) will run every Friday and Monday from November 24 to December 4, leaving Muzaffarpur at 1pm and reaching Mumbai the next day at 7pm,” he said, adding that on its return journey it will leave Mumbai every Saturday and Tuesday from November 25 to December 5 leaving Mumbai at 9pm and reaching Muzaffarpur the third day at 4am.

Similarly, the Muzaffarpur-Pune Superfast Express (05289/05290) will run every Saturday on November 25 and December 2, leaving Muzaffarpur at 9pm and reaching Pune on Monday at 6am.

“On its return journey, it will leave Pune every Monday on November 27 and December 4 at 10am and reach Muzaffarpur the next day at 5.30pm,” the CPRO said, adding that the Saharsa-Ambala Cantt (05565/05566) left Saharsa on November 23 at 7.30pm and reached Ambala Cantt the next day at 11.15pm. On its return journey, it will leave Ambala Cantt on November 25 at 3.40am and reach Saharsa the next day at 9.45 am.

In addition, the Darbhanga-Anand Vihar (05529/05530) will run on November 26 and 29, leaving Darbhanga at 7.30pm and reaching Anand Vihar the next day at 4.30pm. On its return journey, it will leave Anand Vihar on November 27 and 30 at 6.30pm and reach Darbhanga the next day at 4pm.

More special trains will run on the Darbhanga-Anand Vihar (05559/05560), Raxaul-Darbhanga (05569/05570) and Supaul-Patna (05551/05552) routes.
