BirlaNu is set to establish a greenfield fibre cement board manufacturing facility in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, representing a significant advancement in the company’s production expansion.
The initial phase entails an investment of approximately Rs 127 crore and is anticipated to create nearly 600 direct and indirect job opportunities. The facility, equipped with cutting-edge and sustainable production technologies, will enhance regional economic activity and elevate the supply of high-quality building materials for both domestic and export markets.
A notable aspect of the plant is its utilization of fly ash from coal-based thermal power stations, which promotes circular economy practices by minimizing industrial waste. In the subsequent phase, BirlaNu intends to broaden the site with units dedicated to PVC pipes, fittings, and construction chemicals, thereby establishing an integrated manufacturing hub within the Nellore industrial area.
Managing Director and CEO Akshat Seth remarked, “Our new fibre cement board plant in Nellore signifies a crucial milestone in BirlaNu’s expansion journey. It fortifies our manufacturing presence and creates substantial employment opportunities.”
