Asian Paints, the largest paint manufacturer in India, has revealed its intention to establish a new manufacturing facility in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with an investment ranging from Rs 1,500 to 2,000 crore.
The planned greenfield unit will specialize in water-based paints, boasting an annual production capacity of four lakh kilolitres (kl), which will elevate the companyās total installed capacity to 26 lakh kl. Managing Director and CEO Amit Syngle has confirmed that the land has already been secured, and the necessary approvals are currently being processed.
Asian Paints operates manufacturing plants in various states including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The demand for their products is being fueled by government infrastructure initiatives and a resurgence in the automotive sector.
With a network of over 1.65 lakh dealers and an annual addition of 4,000 to 5,000 dealers, the CEO perceives significant growth potential, stating, āWe anticipate further consolidation within the paint industry and the entry of new foreign competitors in the upcoming months.ā
