CII-TNTDPC To Organise Workshop On AI-First Organisations

by Constro Facilitator

The Confederation of Indian Industry – Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Centre (CII-TNTDPC) will organise a one-day workshop on “Design Thinking for Enabling Organisations to be AI First” on October 14, 2026, at IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai. The workshop will be held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will focus on helping organisations develop a structured approach to adopting artificial intelligence.

The programme will examine how design thinking can support organisations in identifying business challenges, understanding stakeholder requirements and developing AI-enabled solutions. Rather than focusing only on technology adoption, the workshop will address the organisational and problem-solving aspects involved in becoming AI-first.

Focus On Design Thinking And AI

According to CII-TNTDPC, becoming an AI-first organisation requires a change in how organisations identify problems, engage with users and develop solutions. Design thinking provides a structured, human-centred approach that can be applied alongside AI adoption.

The workshop will cover ways to reframe business challenges from a user-first perspective, develop and test AI-enabled concepts, reduce implementation risks through iterative learning and encourage experimentation and continuous improvement.

Participants will be introduced to a five-stage transformation approach covering Requirements, Frame, Ideation, Proto and Test, and Define.

The Requirements stage will focus on assessing stakeholder expectations, pain points and gains. The Frame stage will address the identification and definition of core problem statements. During Ideation, participants will work on disruptive ideas and strategies with a three-to-five-year future perspective.

The Proto and Test stage will involve developing prototypes and validating concepts using sample data and AI tools. The final Define stage will focus on establishing KPIs and metrics for governing AI initiatives.

Practical Sessions And Workshop Agenda

The programme will include practical exercises and examples to help participants apply the concepts discussed during the sessions. The agenda begins with an introduction from 9:30 to 9:45 AM, followed by a session covering requirements, pains and gains from a CXO perspective and problem framing.

A session on disruptive ideation and exercises to generate ideas will take place from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. After lunch, the programme will cover high-fidelity prototype ideas with examples, followed by testing with examples and AI tools.

The afternoon will also include a real-life AI pilot hands-on exercise, scheduled from 3:50 to 4:30 PM, giving participants an opportunity to work through an AI implementation use case. The programme will conclude with a wrap-up session.

Who Can Attend

The workshop is aimed at AI consultants and senior executives interested in implementing AI, along with business and functional leaders and digital transformation leaders. Risk, security, quality assurance and governance heads can also participate.

The programme is also open to startup entrepreneurs and R&D research scholars seeking to understand the application of design thinking in AI initiatives.

Participants are required to complete a pre-read before the workshop and install the latest version of Python on their laptops. The organisers have provided Python download resources for both general users and macOS users.
