On Thursday, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) convened meetings with representatives from Canara Bank and HDFC Bank to prioritize the processing of housing loan applications for beneficiaries of the Lighthouse Project (LHP). “We are collaborating with the banks to accelerate the approval process for housing loans. Beneficiaries who have submitted applications or plan to apply for housing loans should promptly visit these banks to prevent the cancellation of their flat allotments.
No additional extensions will be provided,” stated Deputy Municipal Commissioner Gautam Prasad Sahu. The RMC has issued notices to 308 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, particularly those associated with the LHP, who have not made their payments despite receiving allotment letters in 2022.
The beneficiaries are required to settle their outstanding dues by June 2; otherwise, their flat allotments will be revoked. The LHP comprises 1,008 flats situated on 5.33 acres in Aani, Dhurwa. Each flat is priced at approximately Rs 13 lakh, with Rs 6.5 lakh subsidized by both the Union and state governments.
The remaining amount is to be paid by the beneficiaries in five installments. The payment structure includes a Rs 5,000 security deposit, followed by an initial payment of Rs 20,000, and four subsequent payments of Rs 1,63,500 each.
