UT administration intends to auction 140 industrial plots

The long-anticipated advancement of Industrial Area Phase 3 in Chandigarh is poised to provide a substantial economic uplift to the city. The UT administration intends to auction 140 industrial plots beginning in April of the following year, with plot dimensions varying from one to four kanals.

Originally conceived over twenty years ago, this area is intended to serve as a center for non-polluting, high-value industries, including Information Technology (IT), biotechnology, electronics, nanotechnology, and automotive components.

Additionally, it will accommodate sectors related to hospitality, finance, banking, and handicrafts. The objective of this phase’s development is to stimulate industrial expansion and generate employment opportunities within the city.

Deputy Commissioner and UT Estate Officer Nishant Yadav remarked, “There are 140 plots available in Phase 3 and seven in Phase 2. In Phase 3, only non-polluting industries will be permitted. The layout zoning will be finalized shortly, and we will commence auctions in the first week of April.”
