Telangana launches first land registration with survey map under Bhu Bharati

In a significant effort to modernize land records and minimize property disputes, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that the government is protecting farmers’ land rights through reforms initiated under the Bhu Bharati land portal. He emphasized that permanent land rights, supported by a survey map and Bhudhar number, provide farmers with confidence, security, and assurance regarding their future.

On Tuesday, the first land registration accompanied by a survey map was successfully completed in the Kusumanchi mandal of Khammam district. In response to this achievement, the minister remarked that the integrated Bhu Bharati portal is set to become a model for the entire nation.

In Kusumanchi, farmer Bhagam Kishan Rao from Motapuram village in Nelakondapalli mandal sold one acre and four guntas of land in survey number 156/E/1 to Katta Venkateswara Rao, also from the same village. The transaction was officially registered at the Kusumanchi tahsildar office, along with a map delineating the land boundaries.

The tahsildar issued land map-1 and Bhudhar number (795GCHDCUPJ7H0) for this transaction. The government has indicated that it is working towards the gradual implementation of this system throughout the state to offer a lasting solution to land disputes. The minister noted that under the integrated Bhu Bharati land portal, the government is consolidating the survey and registration departments into a single framework.

The pilot project commenced on April 2 in five mandals: Kosgi in Narayanpet district, Kusumanchi in Khammam, Aswaraopeta in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Amangal in Rangareddy, and Vatpalli in Sangareddy district. The Bhu Bharati Act mandates the inclusion of a survey map during the registration process. Individuals also have the option to voluntarily apply for and verify a survey certificate pertaining to their property. This regulation is currently being enforced in the five pilot mandals.
