After this, draft collector rates will be published, deputy commissioner Mahavir Kaushik said during a meeting with the officials here on Wednesday.
Objections from the public will be invited before finalising the collector rates of this year, said the deputy commissioner, who is also the district collector of Panchkula.
Kaushik said the tehsil committee under the chairmanship of SDO (civil) and district committee under the chairmanship of the additional deputy commissioner would assess collector rates of each colony or area in the tehsil.
He said these committees would consult non-officials, who have knowledge about market rates of property in the area concerned. The mandate of the committee will be to conduct surveys and to examine constructions done in the last 12 months in every area and arrive at a logical conclusion of collector rates, Kaushik added.
The DC also said the draft of collector rates would be published on January 20. The HRA branch of the DC office would ensure the publication of the draft rates as per timeline and instruction of the government.
