The Nashik Zilla Parishad (ZP) has enabled the construction of more than 75,000 homes through various housing initiatives, which will be officially handed over to the beneficiaries on Republic Day. Omkar Pawar, the CEO of Nashik ZP, stated, “The construction and payments to the beneficiaries have been finalized. They will now transition to their new residences on Republic Day.”
As reported by the District Rural Development Agency, 51,000 houses were completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), while the remaining 24,000 houses were built through various state government-sponsored programs. “This initiative was effectively executed through the collaboration of multiple departments.
The Nashik ZP is dedicated to realizing the vision of ‘housing for all’ in rural regions,” the CEO remarked. Beneficiaries throughout the district will move into their homes on Monday. During this event, elected representatives, district and taluka administration officials, along with gram panchayat office-bearers, will present the keys to the new houses to the beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries comprise individuals from Scheduled Castes and Tribes, nomadic and denotified tribes, low-income groups, widowed women, persons with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged sections. In Nashik district, the housing projects have been expedited through collaboration with the district administration, Panchayati Raj institutions, and Gram Panchayats, resulting in positive outcomes that are now apparent.
