Over 43,574 people have benefited from the state government’s recently announced Gift Deed Scheme in a little over a month under which property transfer to blood relatives can be carried out for a stamp duty of just Rs 5,000.

“Last year, more than 2.56 lakh took advantage of this scheme, which was implemented for six months from June 2023 to December 2023. In all, 43,574 people registered under this scheme got a benefit of Rs 1807.31 crore between August 5 and September 12 this year,” he said.

The minister said that registrations had also gone up since the scheme was announced.
