NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) has successfully launched 37.95 MW of its 300 MW solar initiative in Khavda, Gujarat, thereby increasing its operational capacity to 262 MW. This initiative is part of the broader 1,200 MW interstate wind-solar hybrid system under SECI’s Tranche-V.

The initial phase of the solar project, which encompasses 142.2 MW, was commissioned in June 2025, followed by further additions of 32.8 MW and 49.125 MW. NGEL’s cumulative operational capacity now reaches 7,553.68 MW.

Additionally, NGEL has announced the commencement of commercial operations for a 12.5 MW solar capacity in Bhuj, Gujarat, which is part of a 37.5 MW project by Ayana Renewable Power. In September, 25 MW was also commissioned at this location.

Furthermore, NGEL has commissioned 100 MW of renewable energy capacity at IRCON’s 500 MW Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka. In July 2025, the government sanctioned a substantial increase in investment, permitting NGEL to allocate Rs 200 billion towards clean energy projects.
