After a gap of 13 years, the KMDA will allot 11 individual residential plots, ranging from two to four cottahs in areas, in Kasba and Rajdanga. According to the government’s latest policy, the plots will be given on a freehold basis through e-auction.
Officials said the last time small plots in and around Kasba and Rajdanga were allotted through lottery was in 2009-2010, when it was given on leasehold basis.
Under the new policy, the state will transfer land on freehold basis, except for khas and vested land. “The process of allotting small individual residential plots is being resumed after several years. The EOI to invite applications is expected to be floated this week,” said a KMDA official.
KMDA wants to cash in on the realty growth in places off EM Bypass. The Ambuja Neotia group recently offered a bid of around Rs 260 crore for a 10-acre plot in Nonadanga. Hidco next plans to auction a 2.9-acre land and a 1.7-acre plot this month.
