IRCTC appoints Sudhir Kumar as CFO

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a leading public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has announced the appointment of Sudhir Kumar as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective January 16, 2025.

Kumar succeeds Gaisingam Kabui, who completed his tenure as CFO on December 16, 2024, following his appointment in September 2024.

An officer of the Indian Railways Accounts Services (IRAS), Sudhir Kumar brings extensive experience in accounts and finance within the Indian Railways. Over the course of his career, he has worked across four Zonal Railways, one Production Unit, and a Project Management Unit of Indian Railways.Kumar has previously led the finance departments of three key railway divisions and an important railway workshop.

A recipient of accolades for outstanding service at the Zonal Railway level, Kumar has also participated in numerous prestigious training programs, including those conducted by ESCAP (London and Paris), INSEAD (Singapore), ICLIF (Kuala Lumpur), and ISB (Mohali).

In addition, during his tenure at a Railway Workshop and Production Unit, Kumar revamped the entire costing system, resulting in substantial cost savings and improved production efficiency.

Established in 1999, IRCTC is a government-owned entity specializing in catering, tourism, and online ticketing for Indian Railways. Despite its pivotal role, the company has seen its share price decline since June 2024, currently trading around ₹770.
