Haryana’s Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, inaugurated the Pradeshik Sadak Utthan Pariyojna, a significant road enhancement initiative aimed at repairing and upgrading 4,227 roads that span 9,410 km throughout the state, with an investment of Rs 4,827 crore for the current financial year.
Referring to it as a “golden chapter” in the advancement of Haryana’s infrastructure, CM Saini highlighted the project’s importance in closing the connectivity divide between rural and urban areas, thereby fostering economic and social progress.
The government has already initiated repair work on 410 roads. In the last 11 years, Haryana has successfully upgraded 43,703 km of roads and built 2,417 km of new roads, alongside notable advancements in railway overbridges and national highways.
Furthermore, an additional 2,432 km of roads have been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, with a total expenditure of Rs 1,077 crore. This initiative is expected to decrease transportation costs, minimize pollution, conserve fuel, and bolster both industry and agriculture. The project encompasses upgrades on roads overseen by various agencies, including PWD, HSVP, and HSIIDC.
