Enforcing a stringent zero-tolerance policy against unplanned development, Glada has issued notices to owners of unauthorized constructions. This action is part of an ongoing effort to crack down on structures that do not comply with legally approved building specifications.
In a recent case, a notice was delivered to a property owner for engaging in commercial activities and extending construction beyond the limits of a building plan that was sanctioned on April 19, 2024. A second notice was issued due to a significant structural violation, where the owner constructed a basement plus four additional levels instead of adhering to the structure originally approved by the authority.
Chief administrator Sandeep Kumar urged residents to ensure that all construction is carried out strictly in accordance with plans approved by the competent authority. He cautioned that any deviation will lead to the immediate cancellation of the approved plan and further enforcement actions, which may include the sealing or demolition of the property.
The authority stressed that the full responsibility for such violations and the resulting legal consequences lies entirely with the builder or owner. Reiterating this position, GLADA’s additional chief administrator Vikas Hira stated that, in addition to active demolition campaigns, the authority will commence strict legal proceedings against any individuals or entities found to be involved in unauthorized development throughout the district.
