Gadkari to unveil highway projects worth ₹4,000 crore in Odisha

On Thursday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for highway projects valued at ₹4,000 crore in Odisha,according to an official announcement. Upon his arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport, he was received by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the state BJP president, Manmohan Samal.

Gadkari commenced his day-long visit to the eastern state by participating in the Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab Memorial Lecture at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, which honors the birth anniversary of the former chief minister. During this event, Gadkari will present a memorial lecture titled ‘Infrastructure Development and Odisha’ and will also take part in a national conference celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of Mahatab.

The Union minister is scheduled to visit the World Skill Centre this afternoon, as stated in the release. During a public meeting at Baramunda Maidan around 4:30 pm, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 19 national highway projects, which have a total investment of ₹4,000 crore.

These projects will enhance 105 kilometers of roadways across the districts of Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal, and Nayagarh. Notable projects include the four-laning of the Banarpal-Godibandha segment, the widening of the Daringbadi Ghat section on NH-59, and the expansion of NH-10 from Mangalpur to Kayangola. According to Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Gadkari is also anticipated to announce new infrastructure initiatives and plans aimed at accelerating the expansion of national highways in Odisha.
