On Wednesday, Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha announced that the state government will initiate a new program named ‘Bhumi Sudhar Samvad’ (land reforms dialogue) on December 12, aimed at providing citizens with a platform to address their land-related concerns and update their documents. Additionally, he revealed the formation of a special team called ‘Udan Dasta’ to oversee and prevent land-related fraud.
The minister noted that the department has received approximately 46 lakh applications concerning land disputes, with nearly 12 lakh of these being resolved and uploaded to the portal. He stated, “The government is dedicated to resolving land disputes at the grassroots level and ensuring transparency in land-related issues.”
During a press conference at the revenue and land reforms department on Wednesday, Sinha remarked: “The government has decided to launch a new program called ‘Bhumi Sudhar Samvad’ on December 12 in Patna. A dialogue session will take place in Lakhisarai on December 15, running from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Individuals are encouraged to bring their land-related documents for immediate resolution.” Sinha also introduced several other measures to address land disputes, mutations, forgery, and encroachments on government land. He reiterated the government’s commitment to resolving land disputes at the grassroots level and ensuring transparency in land-related matters.
He instructed officials to prioritize the mutation of land and to ensure that all applications are processed promptly. Sinha stated, “We have received information that some individuals within the department are colluding with the land mafia.
Strict action will be taken against any white-collar individuals found to be involved. Officials must not act for personal gain. Meetings will be held at designated times in every panchayat, and attendance of employees in the office will be monitored.”
Sinha cautioned officials not to dismiss applications without justifiable reasons and stated that severe measures would be implemented against individuals discovered to be collaborating with land mafia. Concerning the encroachment of government property, Sinha announced that a dedicated campaign would commence in March aimed at reclaiming government land from encroachers.
He warned, “Severe action will be taken against anyone found guilty of encroaching on government land, and individuals who report such encroachments will receive rewards.”
