The state government on Sunday said Rs 8,332 crore has been allocated by the Union government in 2023-24 for the upgradation of railway stations and railway infrastructure in Gujarat.
Chief minister Bhupendra Patel and other ministers attended a function for the reconstruction of the Asarwa railway station on Sunday, where PM Narendra Modi virtually addressed the gathering.
In all, 87 railway stations from the state have been chosen under the Amrut Bharat Station programme. Patel said that the upgradation of 87 railway stations in the state will not only enhance passenger amenities and facilities, but also boost tourism in Gujarat.
