Ganga Expressway will become operational before Kumbh Mela Prayagraj 2025

"The highest number of metros in the country are in UP, running in five districts. With the sixth, Agra metro is all set to open in November-December.”

The 594-km greenfield Ganga Expressway will become operational before Kumbh Mela Prayagraj 2025, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Highlighting the government’s achievements in the past six years, CM said that UP has the best infrastructure. Eastern UP is connected with Purvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway.

The Yogi government completed the first year of its second term on Saturday and also Yogi Adityanath became the first Chief Minister to hold the power of Uttar Pradesh for six years in a row by including one year of this term and five years of the previous. The Chief Minister also released a book on achievements of six years ‘Chhah Saal-UP Khushhal’ and also unveiled a poster at Lok Bhavan auditorium.

Celebrating the completion of six years, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the media and said, “The highest number of metros in the country are in UP, running in five districts. With the sixth, Agra metro is all set to open in November-December.”

Regarding the total number of airports in the state, the CM said, “When our government came in 2017, only two airports were fully operational and two were partially operational. Today there are nine fully operational airports in the state. We are currently working on 12 airports, and the Airport Authority has given its consent for providing air connectivity.”

Within the next two years, Uttar Pradesh will be the first state to have five international airports. Three international airports are currently operational. “Work is in progress at Ayodhya and Jewar International Airport and by the end of 2023 it will also become functional,” he said.

Yogi Adityanath also highlighted that the country’s first waterway has been started from Varanasi to Haldia. He said, “UP got the gift of the world’s longest river cruise. Eastern Uttar Pradesh always regrets that there was no medium to connect with water, but today we have connected the eastern port from Banaras to Haldia. We are constantly making efforts to take the products of the farmers to the global market.”

The Chief Minister further said that Uttar Pradesh is number one in implementing Central government’s schemes in the country. “Uttar Pradesh is number one in sugarcane production and in giving connections under Ujjwala Yojana in the country. He informed that under Ujjwala, free cooking gas connections have been provided to 1.74 crore families in the state so far.”

CM Yogi added further that Uttar Pradesh is also number one in giving maintenance allowance to the labourers and street vendors of the state. The state is number one in giving the benefits of the Atal Pension Yojana and in Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana. There are 96 lakh units of MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh, the highest in the country, which serve as the industrial cornerstone of the state.

Furthermore, the CM remarked that Uttar Pradesh is also number one in making payments through DBT in grants payable to farmers on agricultural inputs. Uttar Pradesh has constructed the maximum number of medical colleges in the country and is making strides towards ‘one district, one medical college’ goal, he said.

According to CM Yogi, Uttar Pradesh is also number one in food grain production in the country and in providing toilets to the poor. Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to declare human-wildlife conflict as a disaster. It is the first state to implement the skill development policy, the CM informed.

The CM further said that the state also tops in implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with one house each has been provided to 12.77 lakh poor people in rural and urban areas of the state without any discrimination. Besides, Uttar Pradesh is number one in the country in the implementation of the state health policy, he added.
