Constrofacilitator recently had an exclusive interview with Rohit Katyal, Chairman & Executive Director, Capacit’e Infraprojects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai, specialising in financial accounting and auditing. With more than 32 years of extensive experience in civil construction and finance, he offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise in these fields.

  1. What inspired you to found Capacit’e and what are its core values?

The company was founded to address the rising demand for a reliable and efficient construction partner capable of managing large-scale, complex projects. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, I identified the need for a firm that could deliver quality work while adhering to strict timelines. Our core values are encapsulated in our motto, “We Build, We Deliver, We Care,” which reflects our commitment to quality, punctuality, and responsibility towards our people, clients, and the environment. These values guide every project we undertake, ensuring that we not only construct buildings but also provide lasting value to the communities we serve.

The use of modern construction machinery significantly improves both the efficiency and safety of large-scale infrastructure projects. Advanced machinery allows us to complete tasks faster, with greater accuracy and less reliance on manual labour, which also improves safety by reducing human risk in hazardous environments. Additionally, cutting-edge equipment helps minimise waste and environmental impact, which aligns with our commitment to sustainability. By continuously investing in the latest technologies, we are able to optimise resources, reduce costs, and deliver projects that meet the highest standards of quality.

By incorporating these practices, we not only reduce the environmental impact of our projects but also create structures that are more efficient to operate in the long term. At Capacit’e, we integrate energy-saving designs, renewable energy sources, and sustainable construction methods into our projects, which help conserve resources such as water and energy. This not only benefits the environment but also lowers operational costs for our clients, making sustainability a practical and financially viable choice in construction.

  1. How does the integration of modern technology contribute to cost efficiency and safety in development projects?

Integrating modern technology into our construction processes plays a crucial role in driving cost efficiency and improving safety. Technologies like Building Information Modeling (BIM) allow us to plan with precision, avoiding costly errors and delays. Automated machinery reduces manual intervention, which enhances safety by limiting human exposure to potentially dangerous tasks. Moreover, technology helps us optimise resource use, control budgets, and ensure projects are completed on time. By using these advancements, we not only improve the quality of our work but also create a safer, more cost-effective construction environment.

  1. What are the future plans of Capacit’e Infraprojects Limited? How has technology been the key asset for the company?

Capacit’e Infraprojects is committed to the future of urban development by focusing on sustainable and smart city projects. Our goal is to create innovative, durable, and environmentally friendly urban spaces that improve the quality of life for communities while reducing their environmental footprint. Over the years, we’ve achieved significant milestones, such as completing the Tata Trust cancer hospital in just 11 months and delivering high-profile projects like ONE Altamount for Lodha. Our future plans include expanding into smart infrastructure, as seen in our work in GIFT City, where we integrate advanced technologies like IoT. Technology has been instrumental in enabling us to build efficient, resilient projects while maintaining our focus on sustainability and quality. It empowers us to meet the evolving needs of urban development, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the construction industry.
