The New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) has opened a special camp to help residents of New Town clarify their property tax queries and clear dues. The camp, that got underway on March 15 will continue till March 31.
NKDA officials said they were receiving complaints from people who were facing problems while paying tax online and that many were receiving notices demanding double payment.
The ongoing camp at NKDA Bhavan will stay open till 2pm daily. According to officials in the last three days 229 persons have come to the camp.
“The helpdesk has been opened to help residents pay their tax on time and clarify doubts, that often arise while paying online as the tax is assessed and processed based on self-assessment and declaration,” said an official.
