Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has decided to take up the new layout after a gap of several years. After the R T Nagar layout, Muda did not develop any layouts leading to criticism.
Now, the authorities have decided to develop a layout on 750 acres of land in Bommenahalli in Yelwal Hobli in Mysuru taluk. A total of 10,000 sites will be formed. Muda and the farmers have come to a mutual agreement for the development of the layout.
Muda chairman Yashasvi S Somashekar on Monday held a meeting with the farmers at the village and said MUDA has decided to fulfil demands of the farmers, who have given their land for the layout. The layout will be developed at 50:50 ratio. Muda has decided to give 50 percent of the developed sites to landowners in lieu of their land, he said.
The farmers said that they will part with their land only if the Muda ensures completion of the project in a stipulated time. The farmers also demanded Muda to give more compensation if the project is delayed. The farmers also demanded compensation for their borewells, timber, and irrigation pumps.
As an incentive Rs 10 lakh will be given to the farmers having more than one acre of land, the chairman promised. MUDA will start work in another two months if the farmers give their consent letter to Muda, he said.
Muda commissioner G T Dinesh Kumar said the decision will be taken in the Muda’s general meeting and compensation will be given for the crops and agricultural pumpsets in the farm.
