The government also decided to start special offices to dispose off applications related to conversion of lands. There had been widespread complaints regarding delay in disposal of applications for land category conversion.

The Kerala government has decided to issue land pattas to 500 families in Kuttampuzha village in Ernakulam district. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his cabinet colleagues discussed about sorting out issues related to giving pattas in forest areas.

The government also decided to start special offices to dispose off applications related to conversion of lands. There had been widespread complaints regarding delay in disposal of applications for land category conversion.

A huge number of applications for converting the category of wetland or paddy land into dry land have been pending before various revenue offices in the state.

Until now, revenue divisional officers are authorised to take a final call on applications for land category conversion on the basis of the recommendations by the corresponding village officers.

The government will amend the rules related to land category conversion by incorporating a clause which authorises local level monitoring committees to take a decision on the applications after conducting proper inspections.
