Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 76-km Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) and the 29-km Dwarka Expressway on 17 August 2025, representing a significant advancement in alleviating congestion in the National Capital Region (NCR).

These access-controlled corridors will facilitate uninterrupted travel for vehicles traveling from Chandigarh to Indira Gandhi International Airport, Gurugram, and Jaipur, thereby decreasing the burden on Delhi’s Ring Road and main thoroughfares.

The Dwarka Expressway, which has a budget of Rs 9,000 crore and was constructed in four segments, along with the UER-II, which cost Rs 7,716 crore and was developed in five segments, are now fully operational. PM Modi had previously inaugurated the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway in March 2024. UER-II, which was designed as part of the Delhi Master Plan 2021, commences at Alipur on NH-44 and connects NH-9 and NH-48, comprising 54.2 km in Delhi and 21.5 km in Haryana.

The expressway links to the planned India International Convention Centre in Dwarka and includes eight lanes, grade separation, three-lane service roads, four multi-level interchanges, and significant underpasses. Additionally, the NHAI has called for bids for multi-lane free flow tolling on this corridor.
