Nova House by interior designer Misbah Kapadia is a multi-experiential hospitality destination in Mumbai’s Western suburbs. It is envisioned as a layered and immersive environment that delivers global sophistication akin to the Soho House experience. Designed as a vertically integrated venue, Nova House brings together dining, lounge culture, luxury stays, and celebration spaces within a single, cohesive design narrative.

Curated and designed by interior designer Misbah Kapadia, Founder and Curator of Design Konstruct, the project spans a total built-up area of 15,988 sq. ft., unfolding across multiple levels. Each floor is conceived with a distinct identity, yet remains visually and emotionally connected, allowing the space to seamlessly cater to varied moods, audiences, and occasions—from everyday dining and intimate gatherings to extended stays and grand celebrations.

Design Philosophy

The overarching design language balances soft contemporary aesthetics with refined royal and vintage influences, resulting in interiors that feel plush, elegant, and timeless without appearing excessive. A carefully curated material palette of pearl-toned finishes, sculpted architectural elements, rich textiles, and statement wallpapers establishes warmth, refinement, and visual depth across the project.

Lighting forms the backbone of the design narrative. A layered lighting approach – featuring chandeliers, concealed cove lighting, accent illumination, and warm ambient light – enhances texture, spatial depth, and mood, while allowing each space to transition effortlessly from day to night.

Together, these elements position Nova House as a curated, social, and aspirational destination, setting a new benchmark in contemporary hospitality design.

Arrival & Ground Floor – Restaurant Experience

Guests enter through a striking rotating glass door, setting the tone for the experience ahead. The ground floor houses a multi-cuisine restaurant designed as an immersive dining environment. Mediterranean, Asian, and Indian influences are articulated through flooring patterns, furniture selection, and curated design elements, creating zones with individual character while maintaining a fluid, cohesive layout.

Visual connections to the outdoor compound enhance the atmosphere, with a calming water body visible from within the restaurant. A dramatic oversized spiral outdoor light acts as a sculptural focal point, while the façade’s organic-shaped windows overlook the sushi and dessert counters, inviting interaction and strengthening the restaurant’s visual identity.

First Floor – Lounge Dining

The first floor unfolds as an intimate, candle-lit lounge restaurant designed to slow the pace and encourage lingering experiences. Lounge-style seating clusters and formal dining areas are thoughtfully arranged to offer privacy, comfort, and rhythm – ideal for romantic dinners, relaxed evenings, and social gatherings.

A palette of pearl tones, soft creams, champagne golds, and warm beige textures defines the interiors. Pearl-textured wall finishes subtly reflect light, while plush upholstery in muted jewel tones enhances warmth. Crystal-inspired chandeliers, accent lighting highlighting wall textures and niches, concealed linear lighting, and a softly backlit bar apron collectively create a refined and atmospheric setting.

Second & Third Floors – Guest Rooms

The guest rooms depart from a conventional hotel aesthetic, offering character-driven interiors that feel playful yet luxurious. With compact room sizes, the design focuses on textures, colours, and wallpapers to create visually engaging spaces with distinct identities.

The second floor features two suite rooms with unconventional layouts, luxury washrooms with bathtubs and open showers, premium finishes, statement wallpapers, and custom fabric-detailed beds. Standard rooms across the second and third floors follow varied colour palettes and design narratives, complemented by open wardrobe concepts to maintain spatial openness.

Upper Floors – Banquet & Celebration Spaces

The banquet facilities are envisioned as plush, dressy, and elegant venues suitable for weddings, receptions, cocktail parties, and formal events. Pearl-toned walls and ceilings with a subtle sheen create a soft glow, while wave-like ceiling forms are accentuated with concealed cove lighting, adding movement and depth.

Sculpted columns with wave detailing are highlighted through vertical accent lighting, creating rhythm and continuity. Rich carpets and curtains in deeper contrasting tones ground the space, while a gold-leafed statement entry door, illuminated with warm spot lighting, sets the tone for a grand arrival. Long linear crystal chandeliers, combined with layered cover, accent, and ambient lighting, offer flexibility for a range of celebration formats.

Washrooms – Opulent Vintage Gallery

The banquet washrooms are conceived as an “Opulent Vintage Gallery,” featuring deep burgundy patterned wallpapers paired with classic black-and-white checkered flooring. Antique gold-finished mirrors, frames, and niches form a gallery-style focal wall, highlighted by accent lighting. Glossy dark lower wall tiles add depth and drama, while sleek contemporary fittings ensure functionality.
