All kinds of allottees — residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and group housing — in Noida and Greater Noida have been offered a moratorium on the lockdown period (March 22 to June 30).
Officials said, these allottees can approach New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA), Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) to avail the benefits.
Passing orders to this effect on Friday and Saturday, officials from the three industrial development authorities stated that no penalty or extra charge would be levied on late payments for the said period, if the plot holders pay the dues by June 30.
GNIDA’s additional CEO, Deep Chandra, said: “People who have been unable to pay the dues, partially or completely, during the lockdown period, can pay the original amount by June 30. No extra charge would be levied for late payment. However, those who make the payment post July 1, only simple interest would be imposed on the pending amount up to September 30.” In case the plot holder comes forward to settle dues after September 30, he/she would have to pay a compound interest on the default amount.
Earlier on June 9, the government had offered a moratorium to builders who were unable to pay their dues during the lockdown.
