Maharashtra govt allocates Rs 188.3 crore funds to MMRCL

Days before the commissioning of Phase I of Metro Line 3, the state govt announced the disbursement of funds collected as an additional 1% stamp duty on the sale, donation, and mortgage of immovable property within municipal corporation areas to fund urban transport projects.

MMRCL will be provided Rs 188.3 crore, while Pune Metro Rail will be provided Rs 165.24 crore from the state budget.

In a Govt Resolution issued on Thursday, the state urban development dept said a decision has been made to allocate funds to Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited and Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MahaMetro) as per the details shown in the budget for the year 2024-25 under the one percent additional tax surcharge.
