The government of Andhra Pradesh has revealed its intention to create a 23,000-acre industrial park in the Sri Sathya Sai district, situated adjacent to the Bengaluru National Highway, approximately 75 kilometers from Devanahalli airport.
This industrial park will be segmented into 16 zones, each focusing on specific sectors such as aerospace, space, electronics, drones, and information technology.
The master planning is being conducted by Lee and Associates, the same firm responsible for the city plan of Visakhapatnam. Out of the total area, 8,844 acres were previously designated for the Lepakshi Knowledge Hub, which subsequently encountered legal challenges. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) is currently in the process of acquiring 14,000 acres, which includes 2,000 acres located near Tekulodu. Compensation for farmers has been established at a rate of Rs seven to 14 lakh per acre, totaling nearly Rs 800 crore.
To finance this initiative, APIIC is in discussions to secure loans, having received state approval to raise Rs 2,000 crore. Officials anticipate that the park’s location, in close proximity to Bengaluru and Chennai, will attract significant investments in the IT and industrial sectors. The completion of the master plan is expected by December.
