TheĀ Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC’s) east zone property tax department on Friday sealed 949 properties whose owners defaulted in tax payment.
The civic officials also collected fines amounting to Rs 53.44 lakh.
The enforcement drive targeted severalĀ commercial establishments, including properties in Haridarshan Estate (Ramol), Pujan Commercial Complex (Nikol), Parishikhar Estate (Ramol), and Palm Arcade (Nikol).
The authorities issued warnings to defaulters, threatening to disconnect their sewer and water connections.
The AMC also cautioned about potential property confiscation and lodging of police complaints against non-compliant property owners.During road expansion work in Vastral, the authorities demolished three commercial establishments.
