The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has successfully addressed 671 complaints regarding property tax and solid waste charges out of a total of 1,782 grievances registered within a month, representing a significant advancement in citizen-focused governance. Officials indicated that the civic body is emphasizing the prompt resolution of issues through its enhanced grievance redressal system.
On Monday, Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena stated, Complaints are being addressed swiftly to ensure timely assistance for residents. The outstanding cases, mainly referred to zonal offices, are currently being processed actively with regular evaluations by the relevant officers to guarantee priority resolution.
The commissioner has issued stringent instructions to the executive officers of all six circlesāAzimabad, Bankipur, Kankerbagh, New Capital, Patliputra, and Patna Cityāhighlighting the necessity for immediate attention to property tax-related complaints at their respective levels. “This initiative is designed to allow citizens to fully take advantage of the ongoing One Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme, which provides significant relief on outstanding dues,” he further noted.
Meena warned that any oversight would lead to strict accountability for the involved officers. He remarked, “To enhance supervision, officers are now required to submit comprehensive daily reports on resolved complaints to headquarters, facilitating ongoing monitoring and periodic assessments.
Through digital channels, PMC is enhancing the accountability, effectiveness, and citizen-centric nature of the grievance redressal process. Officials from the civic body encourage residents to submit their concerns through the designated online portal to ensure prompt action.
